Meet the Founders

Rashmi Bhat

Hospitality entrepreneur, hotel operator, co-founder of Lazy H Retreats and Reso Hospitality.

Namaste, y’all! As a self-proclaimed hospitality entrepreneur, I’m passionate about creating unforgettable experiences for guests. This passion led me to open an Indian restaurant, purchase several short-term rentals, manage over 65+ short-term rental properties with my business partner Scriv (and an incredible team), and oversee more than 100 boutique hotel doors.

In 2024, I took the exciting leap of buying my first hotel, which is currently undergoing a full rehab—I can’t wait to launch it in 2026!

In my spare time, I enjoy spending quality moments with my husband and our cat, Momo. I also love sharing my life adventures on Instagram at @toastyindian.

Scriven Hoefs

Real estate investor, seasoned hospitality operator, co-founder.

Hi, I’m Scriven, Co-founder of Reso Hospitality and a seasoned entrepreneur with a proven track record in real estate operations and hospitality management. Drawing on years of hands-on experience as a real estate investor and through my vacation rental management company, Lazy H Retreats, my co-founder Rashmi and I identified a gap in services tailored specifically to smaller boutique hotels. Together, we are driven by a personal mission to help boutique hotel owners maximize revenue, visibility, property value, and guest experiences!

Outside of real estate and hospitality operations, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my wife and two kids, cooking, traveling, exercising, and exploring personal growth.

Matthew Marcelissen

Texas-based real estate investor, broker, and hospitality operator

Matthew Marcelissen is a Texas-based real estate investor, broker, and hospitality operator with a proven track record of transforming underperforming properties into high-yield, guest-ready assets. He personally owns and operates a portfolio of 19 units across short, medium, and long-term rentals, each designed, managed, and optimized for performance.

One of his most notable ventures includes the acquisition and complete revival of a distressed boutique hotel. Matt led every phase of its transformation, from renovation and design to brand development and operations, turning it into a thriving, highly profitable destination that reflects his signature balance of hospitality and investment strategy.

Before launching his hospitality ventures, Matt spent 15 years in corporate HR and consulting, experience that now gives him a unique advantage in building high-performing teams and guest-centered operations. His ability to blend people strategy with operational excellence has become a defining strength in how he approaches hospitality management.

With a sharp eye for design and a talent for uncovering a property’s highest and best use, Matt specializes in repositioning real estate to achieve maximum returns. His passion for real estate and hospitality led him to Reso Hospitality, where he continues that same dedication to helping property owners unlock the full potential of their investments.
